Keeping It Organized: Multicompartment Constructs to Mimic Tissue Heterogeneity (Adv. Healthcare Mater. 17/2023)

چکیده
Tissue Engineering When engineering tissues in vitro it is essential to mimic the heterogeneity present native tissues, both composition and biological components. While different approaches manufacturing technologies are used literature, bioprinting holds great promise, being able recapitulate complex architectural 3D features use bioinks support requirements. These considerations reviewed article 2202110 by Manuel Salmeron-Sanchez.

Organizing Memory and Keeping it Organized
Maintaining good memory organization is important in large memory systems. This paper presents a scheme for automatically reorganizing event information in memory. The processes are implemented in a computer program called CYRUS.
متن کاملMetamaterials: Snapping Mechanical Metamaterials under Tension (Adv. Mater. 39/2015).
By exploiting snap-through instabilities, D. Pasini and co-workers design a damage-tolerant mechanical metamaterial that snaps sequentially under tension, thereby accommodating a very large deformation up to 150%. On page 5931, they describe how the nonlinear mechanical response of the metamaterial can be robustly programmed by tuning the architecture of its unit cell.

Cognitive dysfunction is common in critically ill patients, not only during the acute illness but also long after its resolution. A large number of pathophysiologic mechanisms are thought to underlie critical illness-associated cognitive dysfunction, including neuro-transmitter abnormalities and occult diffuse brain injury. Markers that could be used to evaluate the influence of specific mechan...

The Post-Albers reaction scheme of the Na ϩ ,K ϩ-ATPase has been remarkably successful, for over a quarter-century , in explaining the biochemical behavior of the isolated enzyme, and is still the backbone of current bio-physical models for the various transport modes (elec-trogenic Na/K exchange; electroneutral and electrogenic Na/Na exchanges; K/K exchange, etc.) of the sodium pump. Because o...

Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) is a non-invasive cancer that forms around breast milk ducts that can potentially progress into invasive breast cancer if untreated. Lack of models to study its diverse pathophysiology and differential response to treatments poses a challenge to develop standard treatment modalities with improved therapeutic outcomes. The traditional in vitro models such as cell ...
